Captain Phillips is a multi-layered study in 2009 hijacking of American container Maersk Alabama crew using Somali pirates. This - director Paul Greengrasss distinctive lenses - both pulse pounding thriller and a complex picture of the many consequences of globalization. The film focuses on the relationship between the commander of the Alabamas, Captain Richard Phillips (two times for an Oscar?-Winner Tom Hanks) and the Somali pirate captain Muse (Barkhad Abdi), who takes him hostage. Phillips and Muse are set on a collision course irresistible when Muse Phillips and his team targeted unarmed ship in the ensuing confrontation, 145 miles off the coast of Somalia, and the men will be at the mercy of forces beyond their control. |
